Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurynas Kasčiūnas reported the information.
According to him, in the future, the bridge is planned to be additionally reinforced with iron beams.
The Lithuanian army is currently testing them to see how they hold back advancing heavy equipment, the minister added.
"The fortification is going according to plan. Some bridges will be fortified, others will be prepared for explosion (only after receiving intelligence data). Physical fortifications (anti-tank hedgehogs, dragon's teeth) are only auxiliary and will be covered by firepower. If the enemy is stopped, it will be destroyed," Kasčiūnas said.
- On October 5, Lithuania completed the installation of counter-mobility equipment next to another Louise Bridge, which connects the country to Russia.
