Lavrov declares Russia's readiness to resolve Ukraine's issue on battlefield with West

“It's their right, if they want (to resolve the issue of Ukraine - ed.) on the battlefield, it will be on the battlefield,” he said, adding that Russia is ready for it.

At the same time, according to the publication, the Kremlin has repeatedly emphasized that it has never refused to negotiate with the Ukrainian authorities. 

However, according to Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov, “there are no prerequisites for this now, as the movement toward peace is ruled out by both Ukraine and the collective West.” He emphasized that the situation can change only if new realities are taken into account and Moscow's demands are met.
