Japan's Minister of Justice Ryuji Koizumi arrives in Ukraine
On August 5, Japanese Justice Minister Ryuji Koizumi arrived in Kyiv to explore potential collaboration with Ukraine on judicial reform and anti-corruption efforts
The Japanese Embassy in Ukraine reported the information.
"On August 5, Japanese Minister of Justice Koizumi arrived in Ukraine. During the visit, he plans to hold a series of meetings with his colleagues to discuss opportunities for further cooperation in the areas of judicial reform and anti-corruption," the statement says.
Later, together with Ukrainian Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin, the Japanese minister visited the memorial to the victims of the Russian occupation in Bucha and the Victims and Witnesses Support Coordination Center, which cares for victims and witnesses of the war.
Koizumi also visited the Central House of Culture in Irpin, which was severely damaged by Russian shelling in the first days of the full-scale war.
The Japanese Minister of Justice laid flowers at the Wall of Memory of the Fallen Defenders of Ukraine and paid tribute to the war heroes.
- On July 29, the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports and Science of Japan, Masahito Moriyama, also visited the Ukrainian capital. In particular, he visited the cities of Irpin and Bucha in the Kyiv region.
