Kallas confirmed this on her X page.
She emphasized that the purpose of the visit is to deliver a message: "my message is clear: the European Union wants Ukraine to win this war."
"We will do whatever it takes for that," Kallas added.
Costa also reiterated the EU's consistent support for Ukraine, saying, "From day one of the war, the EU has stood by the side of Ukraine."
The symbolic visit of the EU's new top officials to Ukraine began only hours after Kallas and Costa assumed their roles.
- The European Council recently approved candidates for senior positions in key EU institutions. Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas was nominated for the role of EU High Representative.
- On October 23, Kallas stated that her priorities in her new role would include strengthening EU security and addressing Russia's war against Ukraine.
