Dutch King visits Ukrainian servicemen training in UK

As part of the Interflex program, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands visited Ukrainian troops studying in the north of England

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this.

Ukrainian soldiers are trained in marksmanship, urban and trench warfare, medical care and the laws of war. During his visit, King Willem-Alexander spoke with instructors and Ukrainian military personnel.

"King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands also took part in some parts of the training program. For example, he attended a training lesson on weapons handling. He was also explained how to recognize different types of mines and delved into medical instruction," the statement says.

The Netherlands has been participating in Operation Interflex since 2022. By 2023, about 34,500 Ukrainian soldiers have undergone military training as part of the multinational initial basic military training operation.

Operation Interflex is the result of cooperation between the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Norway, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Lithuania, Estonia, Romania, New Zealand and Australia. A total of eight waves of 200 Ukrainian recruits are being trained this year.
