Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney arrives in Kyiv
On Sunday, August 24, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has arrived in Kyiv for Ukraine's Independence Day

He announced this on his page on X.
"Just arrived in Kyiv, Ukraine. On this Ukrainian Independence Day, and at this critical moment in their nation’s history, Canada is stepping up our support and our efforts towards a just and lasting peace for Ukraine," he wrote.
At Kyiv’s train station, Carney was met by Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak and Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
"On this special day – Ukraine's Independence Day – it is important to feel the support of friends. And Canada is always there. We value help and solidarity. It gives us strength in the fight and on the road to a common victory. Together we are stronger," Yermak wrote on Telegram.
- It was earlier reported that Keith Kellogg, U.S. President Donald Trump's special representative for Ukraine, would arrive in Kyiv on August 24 for a two-day visit to take part in Independence Day events.
