Argentina's president plans "Latin America support summit" for Ukraine by year-end

President Javier Milei of Argentina has announced his intention to organize a "Latin American support summit" for Ukraine at the close of 2024

Diverging from other regional leaders, such as Brazil's Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Mexico's Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who maintain a more neutral stance on Russia's war with Ukraine, Milei’s initiative stands out.

President Javier Milei emphasized that his priority lies in forging alliances with "countries that protect freedom," specifically citing the USA, Israel, and Ukraine.

Officially communicating with leaders from Brazil, China, Russia, South Africa, and India, President Milei conveyed Argentina's decision to refrain from joining the BRICS bloc.
