The minister noted that Seoul will monitor the unfolding of events and the level of involvement of North Korean troops in Russia and what the DPRK will receive from Russia in response to the assistance.
“In particular, we will observe the level of participation of North Korean forces in the war, and what will be the quid pro quo that North Korea will receive from Russia. We will take all these factors into account before making concrete decisions,” the Foreign Minister added.
Asked whether Seoul could send weapons to Ukraine, he said that “all possible scenarios are being considered.”
Previously, South Korea provided Ukraine with only non-lethal assistance, such as demining equipment, but refused requests for weapons.
