World leaders will refuse joint photo at G20 summit because of Lavrov's presence
Participants of the G20 summit will not pose for an official "family photo" during the meeting. World leaders refuse to pose for photos because of Russian presence
Despite Vladimir Putin saying he will not be at the summit, attendees do not want to pose alongside his FM Sergei Lavrov, the Guardian reports.
The publication says that world leaders traditionally stand together for photos at the beginning of summits, which is a source of interesting dynamics when leaders communicate and greet each other in public. However, there will be no photos at the summit in Indonesia, which begins next Tuesday.
World leaders will not take part in an official joint photo shoot during the meeting at G20 summit in Bali next week due to the presence of Sergey Lavrov, head of Russian Foreign Ministry.
Back in July the traditional photo shoot of the G20 foreign ministers also did not take place due to the refusal of some top diplomats to take a photo together with Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
