President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan discussed Russia's ongoing war against Ukraine, as well as regional and global issues.

Erdoğan emphasized Turkey's efforts to achieve a just peace in the war and mentioned initiatives to revive the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

He added that Turkey is ready for any initiatives to create a basis for peace.

According to Zelenskyy, Erdoğan noted Ukraine's efforts to return people home from captivity.

"He especially praised the return of Crimean Tatars and thanked for these efforts. I assured President Erdoğan that our team will continue this work," he wrote.

The President added that Ukraine is preparing to hold a conference in Turkey on food security and freedom of navigation as part of the implementation of the Peace Summit decisions.

Meeting with Biden

Ukraine's presidential press service also published a video of the beginning of the meeting between Zelenskyy and US President Joe Biden.

The US President announced a new $225 million military aid package for Ukraine. The President of Ukraine said that defense issues will be discussed and that quick decisions are needed to lift restrictions on the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

"We need to end this war as soon as possible, we need a second Peace Summit this year," Zelenskyy said. Biden responded: "We will be with you, period."

Zelenskyy later wrote: "Appreciate US President Joseph Biden's decision to strengthen our air defense with five new Patriots and dozens of other systems. A strong decision that will help us fight Russian terror."

Meeting with Stoltenberg

Zelenskyy wrote after the meeting: "Today we will approve the Ukraine Compact, and this document is a success for Ukraine, as it develops our security architecture. We will definitely fulfill every point - we have enough energy for this. I thank Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg for all these years of our cooperation. The Alliance has indeed become stronger."

The NATO Secretary General noted that the right to self-defense includes strikes on military targets in Russia.
