Zelenskyy's meeting with Canada's Trudeau

Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau met with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly to discuss countering Russian disinformation and the Ukrainian Formula for Peace.

The Canadian leader's press service reported that Trudeau reiterated his condemnation of Russia's ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine, including its attacks on civilians and energy infrastructure.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed Canada's commitment to continue to provide military, financial, humanitarian and other assistance to Ukraine in its struggle to preserve its sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence.

The two leaders discussed countering Russian disinformation and disruption, as well as President Zelenskyy's diplomatic efforts for peace, including through the Formula for Peace in Ukraine.

The leaders pledged to continue to build on the success of the recent Ukraine Peace Summit, and the Prime Minister emphasized Canada's continued contribution to these efforts. This includes Canada's co-leadership with Ukraine of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children and the meeting of foreign ministers on the human dimension of Russia's war against Ukraine that Canada will host in October.

Prime Minister Trudeau and President Zelenskyy reaffirmed their intention to maintain close and regular contact.

Zelenskyy's meeting with Finland's Stubb

In New York, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of Finland Alexander Stubb and discussed a number of important issues of military assistance and cooperation for Ukraine, the Presidential Office reported.

The main topics of the meeting were the situation on the battlefield, Ukraine's defense needs, and international cooperation.

Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine needs air defense equipment, including man-portable air defense systems.

The President briefed Stubb on the current stage of implementation of the agreements reached during the NATO summit in Washington.

The meeting discussed Ukrainian-Finnish defense cooperation, including the joint production of drones and the exchange of experience in this area.

Zelenskyy emphasized that it is important for Ukraine to obtain permission from its partners and the means to strike deep into Russian territory.

The leaders also discussed what international efforts are needed to achieve a lasting and just peace for Ukraine and the role of the Global South in this process.

Zelenskyy's meeting with Slovenia's Golob

During a meeting with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the implementation of the Peace Formula with his colleague.

He wrote about this on Facebook.

According to Zelenskyy, he hopes for fruitful cooperation with the new composition of the European Commission, where a representative of Slovenia has taken the post of EU Enlargement Commissioner.

“I thank Slovenia for its defense assistance for Ukraine,” the president emphasized.

Zelenskyy's meeting with Turkey's Erdogan

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with his Turkish counterpart Recep Erdogan to discuss further development of the strategic partnership.

According to Zelenskyy, the leaders focused on increasing bilateral trade, investment and economic cooperation, as well as the participation of Turkish companies in the reconstruction of Ukraine.

“We discussed the implementation of the Peace Formula with a special emphasis on ensuring freedom of navigation in the Black Sea and Turkey's leadership role in the relevant paragraph of the Formula,” the president said.

Zelenskyy said he had invited Erdogan to visit Ukraine.

  • Sweden and Finland did not impose any “specific restrictions” on Ukraine's use of their weapons on Russian territory, but they emphasized that weapons should be used in accordance with international law.
