Ukraine prepares to negotiate U.S. minerals deal with clear stance, says FM
Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Ukraine has already developed its position regarding the agreement with the United States on critical minerals and is currently forming a delegation to travel for talks
Sybiha made this statement in a comment to Ukrinform.
“The composition of the Ukrainian negotiation team will soon be finalized, and the group will travel to Washington in the near future for substantive discussions on the draft agreement proposed by the American side. We have already developed our position, including our vision for the text of the future agreement,” the diplomat said.
Sybiha emphasized that the future agreement must be mutually beneficial, align with the interests of both parties, and must not contradict Ukraine’s path toward European integration.
“This is one of the key principles for the Ukrainian side,” the minister added.
He also confirmed that one of the leading law firms will be selected to support the negotiation process. A representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will also be part of the delegation to Washington.
