
Ukraine completes 81% of EU association agreement commitments — PM Shmyhal
Ukraine has already fulfilled 81% of its commitments under the Association Agreement with the EU. This year alone, it expects to open six negotiation clusters regarding accession to the European Union
Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated this following the tenth meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council.
According to Shmyhal, the greatest progress has been recorded in the areas of intellectual property, education, information exchange, humanitarian policy, justice, public procurement, and national security.
“In these and other areas, Ukraine has completed over 90% of its obligations,” the Prime Minister noted.
He also highlighted that “particular successes” were achieved in 2024 in the sectors of customs, healthcare, and finance.
“We continue demonstrating our ability to effectively and rapidly move toward EU membership. Already this year, we aim to open all six negotiation clusters for EU accession and deepen sectoral integration,” the Ukrainian Prime Minister concluded.
