The greatest achievement of Trump's second presidency is that the U.S. has not withdrawn from negotiations regarding the war in Ukraine and is trying to "be in the middle"

Political commentator and Americanist Yulia Zabelina expressed this opinion in the World and Us project with Yevhen Mahda.

"Regarding the greatest achievement, I would say that, however it may sound now, considering that we are in the context of Ukraine, it is that the U.S. has not completely withdrawn from the negotiation process between Ukraine and Russia and, in general, is still at least trying to be somewhere in the middle," she said.

At the same time, Yulia Zabelina does not agree that the U.S. under the presidency of Donald Trump has taken Russia's side.

"Despite the fact that I hear a lot of commentators saying that the U.S. has already essentially taken Russia's side, I do not agree with this. In fact, a large number of people within the American establishment support Ukraine and are against the U.S. withdrawing from the negotiation process completely," the Americanist added.

  • On May 19, U.S. President Donald Trump had a telephone conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Trump stated that Russia and Ukraine should immediately start negotiations on a ceasefire and an end to the war. The U.S. President also spoke with Zelenskyy.
  • During a telephone conversation with European leaders, Trump acknowledged that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is not ready to end the war in Ukraine because he believes he is winning.
