Trump may visit Ukraine — pastor Mark Burns
American preacher and evangelical minister Mark Burns says bipartisan support for Ukraine is growing in the U.S., with Republicans now joining Democrats in advancing this initiative
He stated this on Espreso TV.
"I believe the Trump administration hears me loud and clear. I think we weren't supporting Ukraine as actively before as we started to after my trip to Ukraine. The evidence clearly shows that the Republican Party and the conservative movement as a whole have shifted toward supporting Ukraine. This wasn't the case before. Although other people visited Ukraine before me, it was after my return that we saw a tangible impact and changes within the conservative movement and among Republicans regarding support for Ukraine. Democrats have supported Ukraine all along, but now this support is bipartisan. It's no longer an initiative being pushed only by Democrats. And President Trump is leading this direction.
This was difficult to achieve because previously, support for Ukraine was perceived exclusively as a 'Democratic cause.' And I've always been completely candid: at one time, I myself was against supporting Ukraine until I visited and saw everything with my own eyes," Burns explained.
The pastor noted that Donald Trump constantly receives sufficient information about the Russian-Ukrainian war. He added that many people are currently working to arrange for Donald Trump to visit Ukraine.
"There's certainly a chance that President Trump will come. I can't speak on his behalf and claim that he will definitely come. But I can say that there are many among us—and this number is growing—who are working to make it possible for the president to visit. But he sees and hears enough information," he added.
