Trump fails to deliver strategic leadership he promised America — Institute for World Policy
From the very beginning, Putin was interested in Trump coming to power, as he did not see him as a threat
Viktor Shlinchak, Chairman of the Board of the Institute of World Policy, expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
“The psychological profile of Trump that has been studied allows Putin to manipulate him and use him for his own interests. I don’t believe there are no people in Trump’s circle who could tell him this. But now, no one is even talking about an Easter truce or a ceasefire. This indicates that Trump is losing the strategic leadership he promised the United States with his entry into the White House,” he stated.
The Russians will put forward new proposals that concern not only Ukraine. Their primary interest is the unblocking of funds held in American banks. Russia seeks a reduction in sanctions and the implementation of joint projects to draw Americans into Russian initiatives, Shlinchak says.
“Unlike Saudi Arabia, official representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the U.S. State Department are now going to Turkey. But it seems the Russians continue to mislead the Americans. They understand that the Americans are currently busy dealing with tariff issues and are trying to get out of the international isolation that the White House has brought upon itself,” he added.
- On April 10, negotiations began between the Russian and American delegations regarding the normalization of embassy operations.
