Trump believes British troops in Ukraine will "take care of themselves"
U.S. President Donald Trump refused to guarantee that the U.S. would assist potential British "peacekeeping forces" in Ukraine in the event of a Russian attack
He made this statement during a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the White House on February 27, reports European Pravda.
Trump was asked whether the U.S. would assist British troops if they were "in Ukraine, supporting peace, and came under attack by Russia."
"If the Brits are in Ukraine and are attacked? You know, I've always thought the Brits don’t need much help. They can take care of themselves very well," the U.S. president responded.
Then he praised Britain's "incredible soldiers" and said, "If they need help, I’ll always stand with the Brits."
"But they don’t need help," Trump repeated.
After Starmer emphasized the importance of the U.S.-UK defense alliance, Trump asked him, "Could you stand up to Russia on your own?" The people in the room laughed.
- Vladimir Putin recently said that Trump will make all Europeans submit to him. It now seems that only Vladimir Putin has found himself in that position.
