Russian missile barrage hits Ukraine's largest children's hospital: world reaction
World leaders have commented on Russia's massive missile attacks on Ukraine and the attack on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv, which resulted in deaths and injuries
During a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Warsaw, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that the country is ready to help children injured in the Okhmatdyt hospital, Ukrinform reports.
"Regarding Kyiv children. If you need help and Poland can be helpful, let us know... We will do everything we can," he said.
Tusk added that he had spoken with the ministers who organized the presence of Polish doctors, particularly in Kharkiv, so there is experience in providing such assistance.
“Shocking images as Russian missiles hit Okhmatdyt Hospital, Ukraine’s largest children’s hospital,” Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas commented on X.
She emphasized that this is a reminder of why the world should support Ukraine and why outright Russian war criminals should be brought to justice.
Czech President Petr Pavel emphasized that the attack on the children's hospital in Kyiv and many other cities in Ukraine is proof that Putin's Russia will stop at nothing. He emphasized that the attack on the most vulnerable cannot be justified.
"I'm going to the NATO summit, where I expect a consensus that we all see Russia as the biggest threat that we need to be thoroughly prepared for," Pavel said.
Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa said: "We strongly condemn Russia's criminal missile attacks against the civilian population of Ukraine. On Monday, even a children's hospital was bombed. This is a cruel and cowardly tactic to intimidate the democratic world on the eve of the NATO summit. Latvia stands by Ukraine".
German Ambassador to Ukraine Martin Jaeger, commenting on the attack on Okhmatdyt, emphasized that this is a war against civilians and called it Russia's readiness for negotiations and desire for peace.
"Russian terror has no limits: now a cowardly attack on a children's hospital. Now that I have just returned from Kyiv, it is even more painful to see this. It strengthens my motivation to deliver the Patriot and F16 parts quickly. And to continue to do more with our partners in air defense!" emphasized Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans.
