Pro-Ukraine rally held outside White House in Washington

On Monday, August 18, a rally in support of Ukraine took place in the U.S. capital. Ukrainian refugees and Americans expressing solidarity with Ukraine's fight against Russian aggression gathered under the walls of the White House

Participants held signs reading: "We are with Ukraine," "I am American and I support Ukraine," "Putin always lies," "Large-scale sanctions against Russian terrorists." Activists called on the American government to further strengthen sanctions against Russia and support the Ukrainian army.

The rally took place amid the Ukrainian president's visit to Washington. Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already arrived in the U.S., where he is scheduled to meet with President Donald Trump and a number of European leaders. On the agenda is discussion of steps aimed at ending the war and strengthening the international coalition in support of Ukraine.
