Zelenskyy meets with Kellogg in Washington
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Monday, August 18, during his visit to the U.S., met in Washington with Special Representative Keith Kellogg
He said this on hos Telegram channel.
Zelenskyy thanked Kellogg for the meeting and for working closely with the Ukrainian team.
The discussion focused on Ukraine’s negotiations involving other European leaders and U.S. President Donald Trump.
“President Trump invited Ukraine and other European countries to Washington today. This is the first time for such a meeting format — very serious. When it comes to peace for one country in Europe, it concerns all of Europe. We are ready to continue working as productively as possible to end the war and ensure reliable security guarantees. These are the key priorities,” the president emphasized.
Zelenskyy stressed that the joint meeting of U.S., Ukrainian, and European leaders, along with the EU and NATO, is important because it will address the future security architecture for Ukraine and the entire European continent.
“We discussed the battlefield situation, our strong diplomatic capabilities — Ukraine’s and all of Europe’s together with America. Russia can only be forced to peace through strength, and President Trump has that strength. We must do everything correctly to ensure that peace truly happens,” the president added.
