Palau, Ukraine establish diplomatic relations
On June 16, at the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Eunice Akiwo, Director of the Bureau of Domestic Affairs of the Republic of Palau, signed a joint communiqué establishing diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Palau

This communiqué marked the first high-level contact between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of Palau Surangel Whipps Jr.
The President of Ukraine thanked Whipps for supporting Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty. Zelenskyy informed Palau's president about the dangers posed by Russia's occupation of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. He also stressed the need for global unity in supporting the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.
- Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak says that Ukraine is ready to present a peace plan to Russia, but this will happen after the Global Peace Summit.
