Lukashenko claims victory in pseudo-election with over 85% support, CEC says
The head of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus, Igor Karpenko, announced that 86.82% of voters allegedly cast their ballots for Alexander Lukashenko in the simulated presidential election

Karpenko reported the following breakdown of votes:
- Alexander Lukashenko: 86.82%
- Oleg Gaidukevich: 2.02%
- Hanna Kanopatskaya: 1.86%
- Sergei Syrankov: 3.21%
- Alexander Khizhnyak: 1.74%
- Against all candidates: 3.6%

- The head of the CEC stated that the pseudo-elections proceeded “under control and remained calm.” He noted that "no crimes or serious offenses were reported."
- On January 26, 2025, Belarus held presidential “elections,” with Alexander Lukashenko, in power since 1994, seeking a seventh consecutive term.
Leaders from European nations and around the globe have already shared their views on the legitimacy of these elections. - Later that evening, following the staged election, the Belarusian state-run "exit poll" reported that the dictator had secured a record 87.6% of the vote.
