Ukraine's Foreign Ministry calls to end violence, expresses concern over Israeli ground operation in Lebanon
Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed concern over Israel's ground operation in Lebanon and has strongly condemned Hezbollah's rocket attacks
This was reported on the ministry’s website on October 1.
“Strongly condemning the rocket attacks on the territory of Israel by the Hezbollah group, Ukraine calls on the parties to the conflict to exercise maximum restraint in order to prevent the conflict from developing into a large-scale regional war,” the statement reads.
Ukraine is worried about the increasing number of refugees and displaced people in Lebanon who have had to leave their homes recently because of the ongoing military conflict.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the need to avoid civilian casualties and uphold international humanitarian law.
“It is necessary to put an end to the violence in the region as soon as possible. A peaceful and prosperous Lebanon is a guarantee of stability for all the countries of the Middle East,” the ministry added.
- Recently, Israel warned the United States about launching ground operations against Hezbollah's infrastructure along the border with Lebanon.
