'I don't believe that strike happened': Trump on Ukraine's attack on Putin's residence
U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he does not believe Russia's claims that Ukraine attacked Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's residence in the Novgorod region
Reuters reported the information.
"I don't believe that strike happened," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One while returning from Florida to Washington.
"There is something that happened fairly nearby, but had nothing to do with this," the U.S. President added.
Background
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov claimed that on the night of December 28-29, Ukraine allegedly attacked Vladimir Putin's residence in the Novgorod region with 91 attack drones.
On the same day, Donald Trump had a phone conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who told him about the "attack."
Later, Trump stated that he had heard about the alleged drone "attack" on the Russian dictator's residence in the Novgorod region, but at the same time, he "knows nothing."
On January 1, it became known that the CIA and the U.S. National Security Agency concluded that Ukraine did not target Vladimir Putin's residence in Valdai.
