'He’s not weighing into Ukrainian politics': U.S. Commerce Secretary on whether Trump wants Zelenskyy to resign
U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick believes that U.S. President Donald Trump does not want Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to resign

He stated this in an interview with CNN.
When asked whether Trump wants Zelenskyy to step down, Lutnick quickly responded: “No, he’s not weighing into Ukrainian politics. What he wants is to be a peacemaker.”
Regarding potential next steps and the suspension of aid to Ukraine, Lutnick assured that Trump is “going to exactly consider what to do and how to respond.”
“Trump is going to figure out what are the tools that he can use on Russia, and what are the tools that he can use on Ukraine, to get them to the table,” the U.S. Secretary of Commerce said.
- At the same time, Lutnick stated that the U.S. will not provide financial aid to Ukraine if it “does not strive for peace.”
