German Development Minister Schulze, European Parliament President Metsola arrive in Kyiv
On May 9, German Minister for Development and Economic Cooperation Svenja Schulze and European Parliament President Roberta Metsola arrived in the Ukrainian capital on an unannounced visit
Tagesschau and Ukrinform report on the visit of the German development minister.
"People here are rebuilding their country every day, they are not giving up," Schulze said in Kyiv.
The main topic of the visit is preparations for the conference on the restoration of Ukraine, which will be held in Berlin on June 11 and 12.
The minister emphasized that during the meetings with Ukrainian officials, they plan to discuss the expansion of the Ukrainian power grid with the help of Germany and the training of qualified personnel.
Instead, the Ukrainian parliament’s Telegram channel reported that the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, had also arrived in Kyiv.
"The European Parliament has always had a strong voice when it comes to building an international coalition to support our fight for freedom and European values, when it comes to supplying weapons to Ukraine and strengthening sanctions pressure against Russia," the statement says.
- On March 3, 2023, Roberta Metsola already visited Kyiv, where she met with the Speaker of the Ukrainian parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk.
