French FM Barrot arrives in Kyiv to reaffirm support for Ukraine
On the morning of Monday, July 21, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot arrived in the Ukrainian capital for a two-day visit
He wrote about this on the social media platform X.
“I am going to Kyiv. I will participate in the ambassadors’ conference and, on behalf of France, reaffirm our unwavering support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and freedom of the Ukrainian people,” the post says.
According to the program of Barrot’s visit to Ukraine, at the invitation of his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha, he will attend the Ukrainian Ambassadors’ Conference, meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and discuss further support for Ukraine with the government.
Amid France and the EU imposing sanctions on the Russian regime, Barrot will also discuss support for Ukraine with President Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, and Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
The French minister will also visit the Chornobyl nuclear power plant and emphasize France's leading role in ensuring nuclear safety and rehabilitating the Chornobyl nuclear power plant after its capture by Russian forces in 2022.
