Yle reports.
Finland doesn’t reveal the specifics of its military aid to Ukraine, but in an interview with STT, Mikko Heiskanen shared that they are not just sending old defense materials from warehouses.
He mentioned that some of the latest innovations of the Finnish defense industry, still under development, are also being shipped to Ukraine.
“Feedback on the use of Finnish products was positive,” said the Finnish lieutenant general.
Heiskanen noted that the experience in Ukraine will benefit the development of new Finnish technology.
He emphasized that production reserves made by the defense forces for Finnish companies could be used to support Ukraine, needing political will and extra funding.
- Meanwhile, Finland became the tenth country allowing Ukraine to strike Russian territory with its weapons. Finland's Foreign Minister confirmed that Helsinki did not restrict Ukraine from using Finnish weapons to strike Russia.
