Fake Ukraine-Russia negotiation dates circulating online, Center for Countering Disinformation warns
False reports from foreign media about supposed dates for Ukraine-Russia negotiations are circulating online
Andrii Kovalenko, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, reported the information.
“There will be a whole series of media publications with dates for the end of the war, months when ‘negotiations will begin,’ and other such claims. This topic is sensational, and foreign media can be understood, but our platforms and media need to approach this more thoughtfully,” the post says.
According to Kovalenko, the information currently circulating in the media of various countries does not correspond to reality.
He also emphasized the importance of remembering the ongoing heavy fighting on the frontlines:
“An intense and very difficult war continues. The Russians are conducting offensive operations in the East and exerting pressure in the Kursk region. All this requires resilience from the Defense Forces and focus from the entire national security sector exclusively on the defense of the state.”
- Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin declared that Russia is ready for negotiations on the war in Ukraine. The Ukrainian President’s Office stated that the Russian dictator is attempting to promote the idea of negotiations with the United States.
