Europe must prepare for new wave of Russian aggression by 2030 - Polish FM
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski believes that Russia, due to the war it unleashed against Ukraine, cannot attack another state at the moment, but Europe must prepare for another Russian attack by 2030
He said this in an interview with TOK FM, as reported by Ukrinform.
"Russia is currently unable to defeat Ukraine on its own, so it will not be ready for a broader offensive immediately. However, if Ukraine were forced to capitulate—if, for example, Russia took control of Ukraine’s industrial and human resources and its military—the largest army on our side in Europe—then this calculation would change. We must prepare for aggression within this decade," explained Sikorski.
The Polish minister also hopes that the negotiations in Saudi Arabia will lead to a ceasefire and eventual peace. At the same time, he emphasized that Ukraine "is not a helpless victim of aggression; it is fighting and has allies, including the EU and Poland."
"The most important thing is that Ukraine survives as a country that chooses its leaders, controls the majority of its territory, and decides its integration paths," added Sikorski.
- On March 18, Ursula von der Leyen stated that Russia is expanding its military capacity, gearing up for potential conflict with European democracies.
