"We are the largest provider of training for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. We have also started working on changing the mandate of our mission to be able to conduct training in Ukraine," Kallas said, adding that the EU is discussing the possibility of carrying out training for the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Ukrainian territory.
The politician also recalled that the bloc has so far trained about 80,000 Ukrainian soldiers.
"The strongest security guarantee is a strong Ukrainian army," she stressed.
As part of the security guarantees, EU countries will send military instructors to Ukraine. This will take place after a truce with Russia is established.
