Only Trump has leverage to force Putin to negotiating table, Poland's Duda says

According to the Polish leader, Trump is the only one who can force Russian leader Vladimir Putin to come to the negotiating table.  

"America can use various economic instruments to force Russia to respect certain actions. So if anyone is in a position to force Vladimir Putin to make peace, it is America, the president of the United States," he emphasized.  

Duda stressed that Trump saw the reality after recent talks with Putin and has the right tools to block Putin’s fundamental interests.  

"The president of the United States has the means at his disposal to force Russia to comply. Some of these means may be very radical, very harsh, I believe, especially various economic instruments. But I believe that President Donald Trump is capable of implementing them," Duda underlined.  

• On May 5, the spokesperson for the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, stated that as of mid-May, Vladimir Putin does not have any planned visits to the Middle East, which had been considered a possible venue for a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
