U.S. approves $825 million aviation munitions sale to Ukraine
On Thursday, August 28, the U.S. State Department approved a potential sale of aviation munitions and related equipment to Ukraine worth about $825 million
The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency reported this.
The agency stated that the Ukrainian government had requested the delivery of 3,350 ERAM missiles, along with GPS/INS systems equipped with signal protection.
The deal covers not only the munitions but also containers, mounts, components, technical documentation, maintenance, training, logistics, and support — totaling about $825 million.
The State Department emphasized that the weapons delivery will help Ukraine better respond to current and future threats, and the potential sale aligns with U.S. foreign policy and security objectives.
The delivery will be financed with funds from Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway through the U.S. Foreign Military Financing program. The main contractors selected are Zone 5 Technologies and CoAspire.
