Kremlin warns against 'rose-colored glasses' amid U.S. aid freeze to Ukraine
Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov urged caution in drawing optimistic conclusions following the announcement of a halt in U.S. aid to Ukraine, claiming that the Ukrainian military still has sufficient weaponry
He made this statement during the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference Modern Media: Opportunities, Challenges, Threats, as reported by Russian propaganda outlets TASS and Kommersant.
“It is not the time to put on rose-colored glasses. One should always hope for the best but be prepared for the worst. And we must always be ready to defend our interests,” Peskov emphasized.
He also noted that many people are overly optimistic about the situation, believing that the U.S. could completely stop supplying weapons to Ukraine or shut down Starlink.
“Many are now rushing to put on rose-colored glasses, saying that the Americans will stop supplying weapons or have already done so, that Musk will now turn off his communication systems, and everything will work out for us,” he added.
Peskov stressed that even if Western supplies decrease, Kyiv will still have a significant amount of weaponry.
