"We will strengthen cooperation to ensure NATO standards in Ukraine": Zelenskyy and Fiala sign declaration on Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic perspective
During the meeting in Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala signed a joint declaration on Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic perspective
This was reported by the President's Office.
The document defines the priority areas of cooperation between Ukraine and the Czech Republic within the framework of the country's strategic course towards full membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
“With the signing of the document at the level of the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, the support of the Czech side for the prospect of Ukraine becoming a member of NATO as soon as conditions allow is recorded. The declaration separately noted the intention of the Czech Republic to continue providing powerful military, technical, defense, as well as humanitarian support to Ukraine,” the President's Office noted.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that the joint declaration is the first document signed by Ukraine with the aim of accelerating Euro-Atlantic integration.
“We confirmed with this declaration that we will strengthen cooperation to ensure NATO standards in Ukraine. The Czech Republic has confirmed that it supports our country in becoming a full member of the Alliance as soon as conditions allow,” he said, adding that Kyiv will work for such joint declarations to be signed with other NATO member states.
