"We will return thanks to tactics and weapons build-up": Zelensky on Ukrainian Armed Forces withdrawal from Lysychansk

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Ukraine is increasing its supply of modern weapons and thanks to tactics will return to Lysychansk and Donbas.

He announced this during his evening address.

Zelensky noted that military personnel were ordered to withdraw from Lysychansk to save people's lives.

"And if the command of our army takes people from certain points of the front, where the enemy has the greatest fire advantage, in particular, this also applies to Lysychansk, this means only one thing: that we will return thanks to our tactics, thanks to the increase in the supply of modern weapons," he said  he.

According to him, Russia has focused "the greatest firepower" on Donbas.

"Russia has enough Tornado, Hurricane, Grad launchers to destroy city after city in Ukraine. They have now gathered their greatest firepower in Donbas. And they can use tens of thousands of artillery shells every day on one section of the front. This is a reality. That's why we destroy the Russian capabilities day after day, calculatedly, powerfully. And of course, the HIMARS systems we receive and other weapons from partners play an important role in this. No less important is the fact that we protect the lives of our soldiers, our people. We will rebuild the walls, reclaim the land, and people must be protected above all else," Zelensky emphasized.

The President said that the Ukrainian defenders are successfully liberating settlements in Kharkiv and Kherson regions.

"Ukraine is not giving anything away. And when someone over there in Moscow reports something about the Luhansk region, let them remember their reports and promises before February 24, in the first days of this invasion, in the spring and now. Let them really evaluate what they have during this time and how much they paid for it. Because their current reports will go to dust just like those back then. Gradually we are moving forward, both in Kharkiv and in Kherson regions, and at sea: Zmiinyi is a good example of this. There will be a day when we can say the same about Donbas," he added.
