"We have viable solutions": IAEA director comments on ZNPP situation
IAEA Director General Raphael Grossi said that there is a viable solution for the safe operation of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP
This is reported by Ukrinform.
Grossi spoke at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, where he said the IAEA was not trying to find a political solution to the conflict, but was instead seeking to resolve the issue of nuclear security.
"Of course, this (solution - ed.) has to be politically possible and also viable. And I got the impression that we have a viable solution on the table. And I felt it last week, when the largest nuclear power plant in Europe was forced to run on the emergency diesel generators for the sixth time, that we should have never allowed this situation to happen," said Rafael Grossi.
The Director General of the IAEA emphasized that he had been working for months on a proposal to ensure the Zaporizhzhia NPP protection.
