“Russian disinformation failed”: Zelenskyy congratulates Maia Sandu on election win
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Moldovan President Maia Sandu on the victory of the pro-European ruling party Action and Solidarity (PAS) in the parliamentary elections
He made this statement on his official Telegram channel.
Zelenskyy spoke with Maia Sandu and wished her success following the pro-European party’s win.
“These elections showed that Russia’s destabilizing activity loses, while Moldova in Europe wins. Russian subversion, constant disinformation – none of this worked. It is important that Moldova was effective in defending itself against threats together with all who helped,” Zelenskyy said.
He emphasized that Ukraine will always support Moldova.
“We always support Moldova. We will continue working together. Jointly overcoming challenges and building a future where our peoples have strong prospects – in security, in the economy, and therefore in social life,” added the Ukrainian president.
After the parliamentary vote, the Moldovan Central Election Commission published interactive results from polling stations. As of 09:50 a.m., 99.91% of protocols were processed. The pro-European PAS received 50% of the votes, while the pro-Russian bloc of communists and socialists got 24%.
