Putin amassing forces for potential blitzkrieg — Ukrainian diplomat
Ukrainian major, diplomat, former Minister of Infrastructure, and politician Volodymyr Omelian believes that Putin blindly believes in the possibility of delivering a final decisive blow
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
“Trump has a real analysis on his desk regarding the state of the Russian economy, which is in a catastrophic condition and rapidly declining. It’s very difficult to stop this fall. At the same time, Putin has blind faith—he believes in the possibility of delivering a final decisive blow. That is, he is focusing all his forces on trying to carry out a blitzkrieg. I’m confident he will fail to gather enough resources for this, and he won’t be able to implement his plan, but he believes in it. That’s why Putin is dragging out any negotiations for a truce as much as possible. Trump understands this and is frustrated that he’s being led on,” Omelian remarked.
According to the diplomat, it doesn’t currently look like we are approaching a decisive stage, and it’s unlikely that any significant result will be achieved by April 20, May 1, or May 9. However, in a situation where all sides are in a fragile state, any event could shift the course of events.
“For example, Volodymyr Oleksandrovych [Zelenskyy] is hoping for Putin’s death. Trump believes he can achieve a breakthrough thanks to his authority. And Putin firmly believes that he must drive the situation to a result favorable for himself. They’ve already forgotten about Paris, Berlin, and London, but for Putin—in his understanding—Ukraine is an existential threat that must be resolved in favor of Russia. In this situation, the only guarantor of our security and strength is the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Omelian emphasized.
- Defense Express CEO Serhiy Zgurets noted that Russia will continue to try to pressure the entire Ukrainian defense line.
