Victory of Ukraine will contribute to withdrawal of Russian troops from Transnistria
Ukraine's victory in war against the Russian Federation will contribute to Moldova being able to withdraw Russian troops illegally stationed in the Transnistrian region
Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova Nicu Popescu stated this.
"There are many elements, actors, countries, institutions that are important in the settlement of this conflict. At this stage, we all hope and wish that Ukraine wins this war, frees its own territory, so that we can continue work of peaceful reintegration of country and work with withdrawal of Russian troops, which are illegally present on our territory, by peaceful methods, that is what we all want," he emphasized.
According to Popescu, Russia's war against Ukraine changed the context for dozens of countries around the world, food security in the countries of the Middle East and Africa, and parameters of the functioning of Moldova itself.
"But, as I said, we are all waiting for the victory of Ukraine, which will allow us to continue our work on a peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict in this new context," he added.
