US to transfer confiscated assets of Russian oligarchs to Ukraine

For the first time, the United States will transfer assets confiscated from sanctioned Russian oligarchs to Ukraine: they will be used to support Ukrainian military veterans. This was announced by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken during a press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

"Those who made Putin's aggressive war possible must pay for it," Blinken said. The State Department clarified that it is about $5.4 million of confiscated assets of oligarchs. In addition, the United States continues to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine: emergency housing for people whose homes were destroyed by Russia, medical care for victims of Russian shelling, generators for communities, etc. An additional $206 million has been allocated for these needs. Part of these funds will be used to help 6 million Ukrainians who have been internally displaced as a result of the war unleashed by Russia.

Ukrainian soldiers raised the Ukrainian flag over the villages of Stroyivka and Topoli in Kharkiv region, which are located in the so-called grey zone. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service.

According to the border guards, no one has entered the territory of these villages since the de-occupation of the Kharkiv region because of mines. The soldiers have now paved a safe path and raised the Ukrainian flag.

Ukraine starts exporting grain through Croatian ports

Ukraine has started exporting grain through Croatian ports. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

During a meeting with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic in Bucharest, Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko discussed, among other things, the opening of new trade routes for the export of Ukrainian grain.

"Ukrainian grain has already been exported through Croatian ports. We are grateful for this opportunity. This trade route, although niche, is already popular. We are ready to develop it and expand the capabilities of the transportation corridor. We believe that this logistics route will play an important role in bilateral trade between our countries even after the war," Svyrydenko said.
