Rheinmetall's Spanish subsidiary receives order for artillery shells for Ukraine
Germany's largest defense company Rheinmetall has received an order to supply Ukraine with 155 mm artillery shells worth around €142 million. The shells will be produced by Rheinmetall Expal Munitions, the group's Spanish subsidiary.
The ordered shells will be delivered to Ukraine in 2025. In 2024, Ukraine will receive about 40,000 pre-ordered rounds.
Norway to provide Ukraine with additional NASAMS air defence systems
Norway will donate additional NASAMS air defense systems worth about $24.4 million to Ukraine.
"Some will be donated from Norway´s own storage in order to ensure fast delivery to Ukraine, while additional systems will be ordered from the industry for later delivery. Ukraine has significant needs for support, and it is crucial for everyone's safety that Russia does not succeed in its warfare," the government said in a statement on its website.
The systems will be shipped in the near future to defend the sky against Russian attacks this winter. The number of systems is not specified.
Ukrainian defenders from Lviv arranged blackout for Russian forces
Soldiers of the 125th Detached Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a transformer that powered a Russian position and a village where the occupying Russian soldiers were staying.
"The soldiers of the 125th Detached Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine used 'kamikaze' drones to arrange a blackout for the Russian occupiers! In particular, the defenders destroyed a transformer that powered the enemy position and the village where they were staying," the Regional Directorate of the Territorial Defense Forces West reports.
Soldiers of the 30th Battalion enter Russian positions near Synkivka
Soldiers of the 2nd battalion of the 30th Detached Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Kostiantyn Ostrozkyi managed to enter the Russian position near the village of Synkivka in Kupyansk district, Kharkiv region, using a tank, Military Courier reports.
"An assault group of Ukrainian soldiers, supported by a tank, successfully captured Russian positions near the village of Synkivka, Kharkiv region. The Armed Forces also managed to capture several Russian soldiers who wanted to live. The 30th Detached Mechanized Brigade is working," the Military Courier reports.
Ukrainian soldiers captured the trenches and took six soldiers captive.
