Netherlands orders 14 Leopard 2 tanks from Rheinmetall for Ukraine
The German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall will deliver 14 Leopard 2 tanks ordered by the Netherlands to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The first will arrive in Ukraine in January 2024. These are tanks that the concern previously received from other countries, Tagesschau reports.
"Rheinmetall has announced that the order is worth three-digit millions of euros," the report said.
A corresponding agreement was also reached with the German federal government.
The first of the 14 main battle tanks is to be delivered to Ukraine in January 2024, and the rest of the vehicles are to be delivered during 2024.
Ukrainian Armed Forces break through Russian defenses near Kurdyumivka in Donetsk region
The first mechanized battalion of the 28th Mechanized Brigade defeated an enemy battalion near Kurdyumivka village in Donetsk region and broke through the defenses the enemy had been preparing for months.
"The 1st Mechanized Battalion of the 28th Mechanized Brigade successfully stormed the occupiers' positions near Kurdyumivka. As a result of the battle, the enemy battalion was defeated - up to 35 were neutralized, 40 fled, and several soldiers surrendered," the 28th Brigade's website reports.
"This is an important success, as our soldiers broke through the defenses the enemy had been preparing for months. And this is the result of long, titanic work, training and teamwork."
At the same time, the brigade's fighters ask not to perceive the counter-offensive as a movie.

High Anti-Corruption Court allowed to confiscate products of Russian manufacturer of Il aircraft
The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has allowed the confiscation of assets of the Public Joint Stock Company Ilyushin Aviation Complex (manufacturer of Il aircraft) located in Ukraine.
"The HACC imposed a sanction in the form of asset forfeiture on S.V. Ilyushin Aviation Complex Public Joint Stock Company, in particular, the products transferred by the latter to Antonov State Enterprise as part of the programme of resource testing of the AN-140-100 passenger aircraft type design under the 2010 contract worth USD 4,022,614," the HACC press service reports.
Wounded Russian soldiers are taken to kindergartens and schools
The Ukrainian army is advancing in the Bakhmut sector, and the enemy suffers significant losses every day, so schools and kindergartens are being converted into hospitals. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"About 50 wounded Russian soldiers were brought to the kindergarten converted into a field hospital for the invading Russian army in Novomykhailivka, Kherson region. So, the enemy continues to convert civilian educational institutions in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine into medical facilities," the General Staff said in a statement.
In particular, Russian occupiers turned a secondary school in Rozivka, Zaporizhzhia region, into another military hospital. The wounded Russian troops are constantly being brought in.
Over the past day, Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit a Russian control center, two Buk anti-aircraft missile systems and four areas where enemy manpower, weapons and military equipment were concentrated.
Over the course of the day, the Defence Forces' aviation conducted 12 strikes on Russian concentration areas and four on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.
Ukraine wins 15 gold medals at the 2023 European Games
The Ukrainian national team ranks third in the medal standings of the European Games in Krakow. In total, our athletes have already won 15 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze medals, Espreso TV reports.
Only on Tuesday, 27 June, Ukraine won gold in the shooting event at the European Games 2023. Pavlo Korostylov and Yulia Korostylova became champions in the small-caliber pistol mixed event at a distance of 25 meters.
In addition, on the same day, Ukraine won two gold medals at the European Games 2023 in Muay Thai. Ihor Lyubchenko became the champion in the 67 kg category. And Oleksandr Yefimenko won in the 71 kg category. Yehor Skurikhin won the third medal of the European Games 2023 in Muay Thai. He became a silver medallist in the 81 kg category.
Ukraine also won the fourth medal at the European Games 2023 in diving. Ksenia Bailo and Sofia Esman won silver medals in the synchronized 10-meter diving competition.
