Netherlands orders 14 Leopard 2 tanks from Rheinmetall for Ukraine

The German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall will deliver 14 Leopard 2 tanks ordered by the Netherlands to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The first will arrive in Ukraine in January 2024. These are tanks that the concern previously received from other countries, Tagesschau reports.

"Rheinmetall has announced that the order is worth three-digit millions of euros," the report said.

A corresponding agreement was also reached with the German federal government.

The first of the 14 main battle tanks is to be delivered to Ukraine in January 2024, and the rest of the vehicles are to be delivered during 2024.

Ukrainian Armed Forces break through Russian defenses near Kurdyumivka in Donetsk region

The first mechanized battalion of the 28th Mechanized Brigade defeated an enemy battalion near Kurdyumivka village in Donetsk region and broke through the defenses the enemy had been preparing for months.

"The 1st Mechanized Battalion of the 28th Mechanized Brigade successfully stormed the occupiers' positions near Kurdyumivka. As a result of the battle, the enemy battalion was defeated - up to 35 were neutralized, 40 fled, and several soldiers surrendered," the 28th Brigade's website reports.

"This is an important success, as our soldiers broke through the defenses the enemy had been preparing for months. And this is the result of long, titanic work, training and teamwork."

At the same time, the brigade's fighters ask not to perceive the counter-offensive as a movie.

"Remember, the counter-offensive is not a movie or a funny video on social media. If you are 'tired of the war', imagine yourself in the shoes of the guys in the armored vehicles heading to the assault. So support the Ukrainian Armed Forces, help and bring victory closer together with us! Please do so. Share this video, because your support is very important for everyone who makes real miracles on the battlefield. At the beginning of the war, we rallied to survive, now we must unite to win!" the brigade called.

Wounded Russian soldiers are taken to kindergartens and schools

The Ukrainian army is advancing in the Bakhmut sector, and the enemy suffers significant losses every day, so schools and kindergartens are being converted into hospitals. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"About 50 wounded Russian soldiers were brought to the kindergarten converted into a field hospital for the invading Russian army in Novomykhailivka, Kherson region. So, the enemy continues to convert civilian educational institutions in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine into medical facilities," the General Staff said in a statement.

In particular, Russian occupiers turned a secondary school in Rozivka, Zaporizhzhia region, into another military hospital. The wounded Russian troops are constantly being brought in.

Over the past day, Ukrainian missile and artillery units hit a Russian control center, two Buk anti-aircraft missile systems and four areas where enemy manpower, weapons and military equipment were concentrated.

Over the course of the day, the Defence Forces' aviation conducted 12 strikes on Russian concentration areas and four on enemy anti-aircraft missile systems.
