US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin meets with Zelenskyy in Kyiv

He made the announcement on X.
“I was honored to meet with President Zelenskyy in Kyiv today to reaffirm the United States’ steadfast support for Ukraine. We, along with our allies and partners, will continue to support Ukraine’s urgent battlefield needs and long-term defense requirements,” he wrote.
Zelenskyy also commented on his meeting with the US Secretary of Defense.
"A good meeting with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. And especially importantly, in front of Ramstein. We discussed the situation on the battlefield: our defense, prospects and, accordingly, support," he writes.

In the morning, he announced his arrival in Kyiv and posted a photo showing his meeting with US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink at the train station.
"I’m here today to deliver an important message – the United States will continue to stand with Ukraine in their fight for freedom against Russia’s aggression, both now and into the future," Austin captioned a photo from the Kyiv train station.
He emphasized that he had come to Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian leaders.
In addition, according to Bridget Brink, the Commander of NATO's Allied Forces Europe, US Army General Christopher Cavoli, arrived in Ukraine with the Pentagon chief.
