US announces USD 460 million security assistance package for Ukraine
On Monday, February 20, the Biden Administration announced a package of additional security assistance for Ukraine
The Pentagon reports that the aid package, estimated at USD 460 million, includes ammunition for the US-provided HIMARS and howitzers that Ukraine uses to defend its country, as well as more Javelins, anti-tank systems and air surveillance radars.
In particular, the package includes:

Additional ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS);

Additional 155mm artillery rounds;

Additional 120mm mortar rounds;

Four air surveillance radars;

Additional Javelin anti-armor systems;

Approximately 2,000 anti-armor rockets;

Four Bradley Infantry Fire Support Team vehicles;

Two tactical vehicles to recover equipment;

Claymore anti-personnel munitions;

Demolition munitions;
-
Night vision devices;
-
Tactical secure communications systems;
-
Medical supplies;
-
Spare parts and other field equipment.
“To meet Ukraine’s evolving battlefield requirements, the United States will continue to work with its Allies and partners to provide Ukraine with key capabilities,” the message says.

On Monday, February 20, the US president arrived in Kyiv for an unannounced visit. Rolling Stone reported that Joe Biden was offered a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the border with Poland or in Lviv, but chose Kyiv.

According to the AP, shortly before the US President's visit to Kyiv, the US side warned Russia that provocations were unacceptable.
