During an interview on Polsat TV channel, Skrzypczak shared his perspective on Tuesday, as reported by European Pravda.
According to the Polish general, if Ukraine's counteroffensive proves successful, Belarusians, who are currently fighting on the side of Ukrainian troops, may initiate an uprising to overthrow Alexander Lukashenko, the self-proclaimed president of Belarus.
“Let's brace ourselves for the uprising in Belarus because it will happen. The point is that we must not miss this moment. We must be ready to support the troops that will conduct the operation against Lukashenko. We have reasons to help them, just like we help Ukrainians," Skrzypczak said.
The general further contends that the Belarusian people will rally behind the volunteers presently engaged in Ukraine and will enthusiastically stand against Lukashenko. Skrzypczak believes that Lukashenko lacks the military capacity to prevent such an uprising and posits that Russia's ability to support him would be limited, as it faces its own challenges. Consequently, he urges Polish authorities to prepare for a potential surge of Belarusians into Poland if an uprising occurs.
Earlier, Ukrainian diplomat Volodymyr Ohryzko said on Espreso that Lukashenko will get an arrest warrant from The Hague if his involvement in the abduction of Ukrainian children will be proved.
