"Unreformed Ukraine" defends on battlefield peace of unshakable NATO standards
Until Ukraine receives a clear timeframe for full membership, the war in the country will continue
One more thing about Biden's position on the MAP. This is important.
I understand Biden's desire to see Ukrainian society transparent and non-corrupt, as required by NATO standards, and I can even agree that an honest political conversation, of course, in compliance with the principles of national unity, can return to the information field.
But I strongly disagree with the approach to Ukraine itself: "no 'standards' - no membership.” Until Ukraine receives a clear timeframe for gaining full membership, the war in the country will continue. And it will be difficult, to put it mildly, to implement any effective reforms and guarantee a full-fledged democracy in such conditions.

“The decision to join NATO is primarily a political one. It has been and is. And that is why there are even some countries among NATO members that do not always share NATO's values or consensus policy. This is definitely not the case with Ukraine.”
To cut off all talk of Ukraine being "under-reformed," official Kyiv should probably ask our partners what specific reforms it lacks right now. And if there is an answer, they should immediately adopt them by consensus with the opposition. So that our Western partners do not have a chance to stay in their comfort zone again and look for reasons to refuse us.
After all, the "unreformed Ukraine" is now on the battlefield defending the peace of their unshakable standards.
