Bridge destroyed by Russia restored in Ukraine's Zhytomyr region
The UNITED24 initiative successfully restored a bridge in the Zhytomyr region, reconnecting 7 communities previously affected by the destruction caused by Russian forces in March 2022
Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced this achievement.
The reconstructed 36-meter bridge facilitates movement among communities that were liberated in early April 2022. This reconstruction is expected to enhance logistical efficiency in the region and secure safe travel for residents of nearby villages and towns.
The press service of the UNITED24 initiative clarified that the bridge, demolished by Russians in March 2022, was reconstructed by servicemen from the 1st separate brigade of the State Transport Special Service.
Fedorov expressed gratitude, stating, "We continue rebuilding infrastructure and restoring normal life to the liberated territories. Thanks to everyone supporting UNITED24 for helping rebuild Ukraine."
- On November 17, it was reported that the UNITED24 program donors contributed to the restoration of the 21st bridge, linking Zhytomyr Region and Kyiv Region with a road of regional significance.
