UNEX UGV: new armored amphibious vehicle joins Ukraine’s military fleet
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has codified and approved the unique UNEX UGV armored amphibious vehicle for use by the Ukrainian Defense Forces
The Ministry of Defense reported the information, citing the Main Directorate of Armament and Military Equipment Lifecycle Support.
The UNEX UGV remotely controlled self-propelled armored platform, made in Ukraine, is built on a special chassis that provides exceptional mobility in the most challenging conditions. It easily moves across water, marshes, swamps, mud, sand, rough terrain, and ice.
"The weight distribution between the axles and the wide tires create a pressure on the surface lower than that of an infantryman’s foot. As a result, the platform does not trigger mines designed to target vehicles and armored equipment. During a demonstration, the armored amphibious vehicle drove over a ceramic plate and a coffee cup without damaging them," the report states.
The UNEX UGV unmanned platform is capable of overcoming water obstacles, fallen trees, large rocks, and trenches. It can also drive out of the water on icy surfaces. The device operates in challenging weather conditions and at various temperatures.
The UNEX UGV demonstrates resilience against electronic warfare systems, equipped with a reliable radio control system, a programmable autopilot, and powerful batteries. The platform can be adapted for various modifications, including the installation of combat modules, electronic warfare systems, and can be used for logistics operations, evacuation, or demining.
