Ukrainian Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko made the statement.
A Kalibr missile hit the historic center, designated as a buffer zone within the UNESCO site.
The complex consisting of 17 residential buildings situated at the intersection of Stryiska Street and Academic Sakharov Street holds the status of a locally significant architectural monument. These houses, constructed in 1930 as part of the residential complex for Lviv Polytechnic teachers, are listed in the State Register of Immovable Monuments of Ukraine.
"We are promptly and officially notifying UNESCO about this situation and expressing our expectation for more than just deep concern. A state that demonstrates a lack of respect for human life, memory, or the history of another independent country should not be entitled to full membership in international organizations," commented Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, in turn, noted that "the destruction of heritage of this level is a crime against world culture."
On the night of July 6, Russian troops struck Lviv with missiles: an apartment building, which is a local architectural monument, a school, and dormitories were damaged. Four people were killed and 37 injured.
